Texas Instruments Predict Tablets Will Inspire Future of 1080p HD Projectors

Texas Instruments is one of the leading projector chip manufacturers. Today, the company predicted that the growth of using tablets in the educational field will help fuel a new wave of new technologies for 1080p HD (1920 x 1080) projectors. The growth of using tablets has been significant that it has made TI look toward fortifying the promotion of its DLP chip architecture in order to reinstate its commitment to the education market. Futuresource’s Ben Davis stated, “According to a study we ran in December, 14 per cent of children would have asked for a tablet this Christmas – staggering proof of how much the technology is taking hold of society, both in terms of consumers, like these children, but also businesses. The widespread adoption of tablet devices across all sectors and resulting increase in consumption of HD video content is driving a real demand for higher resolution projectors in classrooms and meeting rooms. As a result, we expect 1080p to be the next resolution to see strong growth in the EMEA B2B projector market.”
