There is no short supply of pico projectors on the market. However DoCoMo has recently announced a new model that will be releasing at the end of the month. The F01 is a stand alone projector, unlike the projector cell phone that DoCoMo has been advertising with Fujitsu. The specifications are limited right now, but it will be able to display a WVGA (854 x 480) resolution and 9 ANSI lumens using DLP display technology. It will also be able to create images measuring up to 66 inches, diagonally. The F01 will come with an internal battery that will be able to run for up to 150 minutes before needing recharged. The biggest feature however is that it will have a built in TV tuner and will be able to display Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files. Unfortunately, the F01 is only looking to release in Japan, but for those who will be able to get it, the retail price will be $270.
