Optoma Releases Game Time Projectors

Optoma is the world’s bestselling brand of DLP projectors. Today, the company has announced that it has begun shipping of their new Game Time projectors. The new series includes three new models, the GT360, GT700, and GT720. Each model is unique in there own way. The GT360 has 2500 ANSI lumens, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and SVGA (800 x 600) resolution. The GT700 is not as bright, with 2300 ANSI lumens and a 2500:1 contrast ratio, but it does come with WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. The GT720 is the top of the three with 2500 ANSI lumens, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. “Gamers love to feel totally immersed in their games, and the bigger the picture the more ‘in the game’ they feel,” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s senior director of product and marketing. “These GameTime projectors are designed for flawless performance with today’s top HD consoles and Gaming PCs, and enhance games with stunning speed, high contrast and vivid colors.” The GT360, GT700, and GT720 are available now through certified retailers and are priced at $599, $749, and $799, respectively.

The line consists of the GT720, GT360, and the newly added GT700, and offers features that accentuate gaming, such as a big-screen display that is a perfect image match-up for gaming applications and the total immersion experience. The GT360 will carry an end-user price of $599, the GT700 will be priced at $749, while the GT720 will cost $799.

Both the GT360 and the GT720 share many features to optimally serve the needs of gamers as well as sports enthusiasts and movie buffs. Both employ a short-throw lens to create large images in smaller rooms and 2500 lumens combined with a 3000:1 contrast ratio to deliver startlingly crisp, larger-than-life images. Each projector utilizes a powerful 10-Watt stereo speaker system to deliver in-the-action sound without external speakers.
Optimally designed for Nintendo’s Wii™ console, the GT360 delivers a native 800 x 600 pixels (SVGA) resolution. It is PC and MAC compatible, supports computer resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 pixels (HD), and can also accept common global video inputs and video formats up to 1080p (HDTV, EDTV, SDTV, NTSC, PAL, SECAM).
The GT720 offers a native widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution, and is designed to maximize the widescreen attributes of major gaming consoles such as Xbox™ and Sony PlayStation®. It also is PC and MAC compatible, supports computer resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 pixels (HD), and accepts common global video inputs and video formats up to 1080p (HDTV, EDTV, SDTV, NTSC, PAL, SECAM).
The newly added GT700 is designed for Xbox and Sony PlayStation users who crave the widescreen format and higher resolution found in the GT720, but at a slightly lower price. The GT700 delivers WXGA resolution with all the same features and connectivity as the GT720, but at 2300 lumens with a contrast ratio of 2500:1.
Accessories for all three projectors include a remote and a special backpack. All are compact and lightweight at only 6.5 lbs., allowing gamers to take the big-screen experience with them wherever they go.
