Texas Instruments Announces New Brightboxe Projector

TI_a1

Texas Instruments is the creator of DLP display technology for projectors. Recently, the company celebrated when LG Electronics announced the release of their eXpo projector phone. Today, the company is announcing a new projector that is designed specifically for game consoles. The Brightboxe projector is designed to connect any existing game console but it is still small enough to qualify as a pico projector. It displays a VGA (640 x 480) resolution and a 500:1 contrast ratio. The unit uses RGB LED lamps and can also display images up to 100” diagonally. Unfortunately, TI has not announced yet what company will sell the Brightboxe or if TI will sell directly. However when it does release it will retail for $199.

Can’t wait to see what this pico actually looks like. I wonder if they gave it a gamey feel!
