DIYer Creates Home Theater From Scratch

DIYbluetheater_a1

One major problem with do-it-yourself projects is that you normally have to work with what you have available. For this home owner, he got to build his home theater as the contractors were building his home. He would spend weeks after work coming to the new house and laying wire and preparing other electronic equipment. Because he had contractors building the house at the same time, he had them do the hard work like installing drywall. The two row risers are fitted with four ButtKicker LFE transducers, which is enough power to make the risers shake. To help prevent damage to the home theater, the DIYer thought of a novel solution, hockey pucks. The rubber disks are placed on each corner and allow the riser to limit its contact with the rest of the theater, and ultimately allowing the riser to shake rattle and roll with bass. The 110-inch screen is also custom made and it is paired with an InFocus ScreenPlay 5700 projector, which features 1000 ANSI lumens, a XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, and a 1400:1 contrast ratio.
