Japan loves to create pico projectors. The latest comes from a company called FuchiView and their model is the PPP01. This projector features 16 ANSI lumens, VGA (640 x 480) resolution, and a 260:1 contrast ratio. The more important feature is that the company claims that this projector is the world’s first to run off of alkaline AA batteries. However earlier this week we already saw the world’s first in the Sanwa 400-PRJ001. In addition to running of AA batteries, the PPP01 is capable of outlasting most first generation projectors with a running time between 3 to 6 hours, depending on what setting it’s on. The PPP01 is about the size of a pack of cards and weighs just over a quarter of a pound. The only connections include a mini USB port, AV input and a headphone jack. There is also a SD card slot for cable free presentations. The PPP01 is currently available through certified retailers for just under $400.
