Projectiondesign is a Norwegian company that designs, manufactures and markets a range of high performance projectors for professional, business and consumer applications. Today, the company is introducing their new F35 WQXGA projector. This projector is the world’s first Texas Instruments WQXGA DLP chip, which offers WQXGA (2560 x 1600) resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The resolution features 78% more pixels than WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution and is five times greater than standard XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. The projector also features an 8000:1 contrast ratio and 6500 ANSI lumens to ensure the best image possible. The F35 is meant for the professional industry and will be used in medical facilities where the advanced resolution will give viewers a better look at what they are doing. Roger Carver, manager of DLP’s front projector business at Texas Instruments, says, “We are delighted that projectiondesign has deployed the WQXGA chip in a projector as innovative and as striking as the F35. This is not the first time that we have provided our technology to this innovative company to launch into the market. We see this introduction as a major step forward in technology and it is really satisfying to see this ultra-high resolution being exploited by projectiondesign in such an effective and imaginative way.” Projectiondesign plans to release the F35 before the end of the second quarter in 2010.
