Shaw Brothers Film Company is currently developing a state-of-the-art audio post production facility called the Shaw Studios Project. The new screen rooms need the best projectors available, which is why they recently contacted Digital Projection. The theater comprises of over 20 sound and editing suites and will comprise of various projector from Digital Projection’s TITAN Series. Two of the models that will be used the most include the TITAN 1080p-250 and the TITAN 1080p Dual 3D. The 1080p-250 features 2000 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 5000:1 contrast ratio. The 1080p Dual 3D projector features 9000 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Eric Stark, Chief Technical Officer, Shaw Studios said, “We spent a great deal of time researching all projectors on the market and finally chose Digital Projection’s TITAN displays based on the compact form factor and low noise which lends itself perfectly to the studio environment where space is a premium and noise levels are critical.” Stark continued, “The advanced ColorMax™ color processing gives the user full control over primary and secondary colors, plus white point control. This advanced color control allows us to color match every projection system in house in order to attain a complete color science solution at Shaw Studios. Another deciding factor for us is the ability to use the projector in 2D or 3D modes which enable us to take on a wider range of projects, as more 3D movies are produced.”
