For weeks the Nikon CoolPix S1000pj camera projector was the major topic in the projector industry. This device not only has all the camera features of the other CoolPix series, but it also has built in pico projector that is capable of displaying VGA (640 x 480) resolution images up to 40-inches, diagonally. Because Nikon is known for their cameras and optical lenses, many people were wondering who designed the projector engine. Today, Nikon announced that they designed the projector system themselves. With an exclusive look on the inside of the device, the camera is mounted next to the battery pack and then connects to the projector lens, which is located in the center of the camera. Some of the problems the company had while designing the S1000pj included planning the internal layout of the camera’s components, controlling the device’s heat, and not only shrinking the projector, but also the camera’s components as well.
