A Home Theater with No Usable Walls

The custom electronics pro, Hifi Buys from Nashville Tenn. had one of their most unusual home theater builds to date. They had to install a home theater in a room that didn’t have any vertical walls. The room the owners wanted to use was their attic, which possessed nothing but slanted walls. In order for the designers to build the theater they first had to build a wall. To good part about this aspect of the build was that they could position the projector first and then build the wall and screen at the right distance. Another good aspect that the room provided was resonance. However, the designers did have to put up a lot of acoustic panels in order to prevent the sound from being heard through out the entire house. The room was originally a gaming and entertainment room for the owner’s three children, but they wanted something that they could not only have family night with, but also have seating for up to 10 people for social gatherings. The finished room now features a 110” screen and a Sony VPL-VW100 projector, which features 800 ANSI lumens, a 15000:1 contrast ratio, and full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution.
