This week is the IFA expo in Berlin and one of the new products that will be announced in the Panasonic PT-AE4000. This device is expected to be the successor of last years’ popular PT-AE3000 projector. The AE3000 featured 1600 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 60000:1 contrast ratio. The AE4000 features the same brightness and resolution, but instead comes with a much better 80000:1 contrast ratio. Based on the chassis, many people would not be able to tell the two projectors apart. However, Panasonic did state that they have fixed the lens problem that the AE3000 had and now the AE4000 can display a true 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Other similarities include three HDMI ports, two component connections, a RGB, s-video, and a composite port. Until IFA officially starts tomorrow that is all the info that Panasonic will give out. The AE4000 will go on sale at the end of October and retail for £2000 ($3255).
