ICT Displays 3D Holographic Floating Head

The future of video conferencing is here and it is 3D holographic technology. ICT graphics lab has recently demonstrated what they believe will be the future; the only problem is that it is a disembodied 3D floating head. The head is created using special cameras to capture the subject’s head and projecting it onto a spinning mirror. This technology is an updated version of the 3d holograms they demoed in October last year. the projector uses a grid pattern to map out the subjects face and create a 3D version, Older methods of transforming objects into 3D copies required slow scanning lasers. The spinning mirror allows for a projector to reflect onto the space above it. By rotating the mirror, the image is then traced in a 360 degree arc. By rotating the mirror at a fast speed, the images can show multiple images every second. The system can even display right and left eye images, which creates the 3D effect.
