Parents Install Theater Screen in Kid’s Bedroom Ceiling

Good parents always want to do things that will make their kids happy. That is what Patti Deni did when her latest home was being built. She wanted to do something special for her teenage son and contacted Stereo Advantage to help with the project. Her idea was a off the wall, literally, by putting a 100” screen on the ceiling above the child’s bed. This project was the first of its kind for the designers. The display uses a 98” StarGlas60 display from Stewart Filmscreen. The NEC NP4001 projector was mounted behind the screen and uses a short throw lens to fill screen. The  NP4001 comes with a WXGA (1280 x 768) resolution, a 2100:1 contrast ratio, and 4500 ANSI lumens, which allows the kids to play any time of the day. Now one would think that in order to use the screen for games, or movies the son would have to lay down all the time. The designers noted that due the size of the display, any viewer only had to prop themselves in a comfortable position and be able to see the screen perfectly.
