Sony has recently announced the release of their latest lens unit, the LKRL-A002. This unit is only compatibly with Sony’s SRX-R220 projector, which features 18000 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and a 4k (4096 x 2160) resolution. The A002 is actually two lenses in one and attaches easily to the projector. The lens is specifically designed to be used for 3D movies and separates the left eye and right eye images from the film so that they can be shown at the exact same time. Other 3D projectors interlace the left and right eye images so that they are capable of showing through the same lens. The dual lens of the A002 displays a much smoother image with out compromising the movie’s quality. The projected image still requires 3D glasses in order to see the 3D image. There is no pricing released for the LKRL-A002 lens.
