BenQ Joybee GP1 Projector Review

Just about everyone who has heard about pocket projectors has heard about the BenQ Joybee GP1. This little marvel is one of the smallest of its kind and features a SVGA (858 x 600) resolution, 100 ANSI lumens, and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Recently, the writers from Gizmag reviewed this little marvel. The first feature that the writer commented about was the built-in USB port. Not a lot of other pocket projectors have this port yet, which makes the GP1 stand out. The USB port allows the projector to display video, audio and photos straight from a user’s flashdrive. This gives the user the option of leaving their laptop at home. The writers were also happy with the projector’s quick start up time as well as the projector’s ability to compensate when the wall that’s being used for a screen isn’t white. However even though this projector has some positive qualities, it also has some drawbacks. One of the major complaints mentioned was the bulk that came with the projector. Extra cables, and a brick sized power pack really takes away from the GP1’s small and light weight design. The final conclusion the writers mage about the GP1 was, “Overall, the GP1 is a good quality, solid little projector. It offers a range of applications – being a great companion for today’s modern contractor or business person who wants to do impressive presentations on the move. It could also be a great way to show off your latest home videos and photos at the next family function. I’m looking forward to seeing a firmware upgrade that allows it to handle more diverse range of audio codecs.”
