Among all the presenters at InfoComm, Sanyo has announced today that they will be launching their PLC-WTC500L and PDG-DET100L projectors. Both models are designed to display high brightness but at the same time, reduce maintenance costs. The WTC500L features 5000 ANSI lumens, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and a WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. This projector is also fitted with Sanyo’s lamp selection system, which automatically selects one of the two lamps to project from. This feature not only extends the lamp life to 6000 hours, but it also eliminates the hassle of a manual change that older dual lamp projectors have. The DET100L is one of Sanyo’s brightest projectors, featuring 7500 ANSI lumens, a SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) resolution, and a 7500:1 contrast ratio. The main feature about this projector is its DICOM Simulation Mode, that was designed to help display X-ray images for medical education. This model also comes with a dust-resistant sealed optical engine, which is designed to prevent dust build up from deteriorating the projector’s brightness and contrast. To help prolong the projector’s usefulness, Sanyo has equipped both machines with their Active Maintenance Filter system, which detects air blocks or clogs and automatically changes the air filter to a clean sheet. Both the WTC500L and DET100L are expected to release this month for $6995 and $14995, respectively.
