Digital Projection Upgrades DLP Projectors with VIDI Technology

Digital Projection in an Emmy Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems. Today the company announced that all of their single-chip DLP projectors will be fitted with the new VIDI technology, which estimates to over 35 different models from various series. VIDI technology is a Philips development with assistance from Texas Instruments, the leading provider of DLP display technology. The technology works with the UHP lamp and delivers a two-pulse system: one brilliant pulse and one dark pulse. The dark pulse will enhance the projector’s natural contrast, while the brilliant pulse will increase the brightness by 25-30%. A major feature about the VIDI technology is that the pulse system can alternate between the two pulses in a variety of combinations in order to optimize the projector’s performance for specific applications. Digital Projection plans to display the updated models with the VIDI technology next week at InfoComm.
