Digital Eye Glasses Could Be Newest Projector Development

Many new and exciting technologies are being developed these days. One of the latest developments to be announced was pico projectors. However, even those these projectors are small, developers are trying to find ways to shrink these projectors so that they can fit inside to frame of a pair of digital eye glasses. Several companies, including SBG Labs are developing ways to have the micro projectors display onto the lens using light-emitting laser diodes. The lens is comprised of computerized, transparent devices called holographic gratings, which diffracts light similar to how a prism works. The finished display is then seen by the eye as normal. Many developers are planning to make these glasses into a portable Heads-Up Display (HUD), which is almost exactly what the Sixth Sense System does. People wearing the glasses will be able to see the world normally but will also see an overlapped layer that could display names and information of people you look at, or displays walking lines or arrows to show you how to get to your destination. When fully developed these glasses will link to the user’s smart phone and retrieve any desired information through a WiFi wireless connection.
