Samsung Releases Eight New Projectors

Samsung is making a big push today as they announce the release of eight new projectors. Samsung has created a wide array of models that are designed for everything including a portable model, two classroom units, two large venue models, and three home theater projectors. Most of these projectors can already be found on the Samsung website. “We’ve taken our expertise in displays and technology offering to give our projectors excellent picture quality. Every aspect of the projector, from the exterior to the AV inputs and sound system, was designed to maximize the viewing experience,” said Tom Grau, Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Projectors at Samsung Electronics’ Information Technology Division. “As we expand our line of Data Projectors, we are launching a family of strategic offerings for growing market segments that leverage our brand’s heritage for superior display performance.”
First is the P400 projector. This model weighs less than 5 lbs and can easily be stored in any travel bag. The projector features a SVGA (800 x 600) resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 150 ANSI lumens. The projector can also display on screens up to 80 inches, diagonally from less about 9 feet away. This projector retails for $699.
The first of the two of the classroom projectors is the L220. This is the first Samsung has talked about this projector and there is not a lot of information about it yet. This model features 3LCD display technology and 2200 ANSI lumens. It comes with a VGA and a composite port as well as stereo speakers. More information about this model will be released as it becomes available.
The other classroom projector is the L300. This model features 3000 ANSI lumens, a 500:1 contrast ratio, and a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. This model comes with similar connections as the L220, but also comes with an HDMI port. This projector is priced for $1099 and comes with a two year warranty.
The D300 is built primarily for large venue projection and features 3000 ANSI lumens, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. Even though this projector is designed for big displays, the projector weighs less than 10 lbs, which allows it to travel easily. The D300 retails for just under $1000.
For double the price ($1999), Samsung is also offering the D400 projector, which features a 3000:1 contrast ratio, XGA (1024 x 768) resolution and 4000 ANSI lumens. The D400 features the latest DarkChip4 DLP chipset and delivers clear, crisp images.
The first of the home theater projectors is the A400B. This projector features WXGA (1280 x 768) resolution a 2500:1 contrast ratio, and 2000 ANSI lumens. The widescreen resolution allows movies to be seen in their original format. The A400B also features a short throw distance in order for it to be used in smaller theaters. This retail price for this model is $1499.
Another quality home theater is the A800B projector. This model is a lot better, featuring a 10000:1 contrast ratio, 1000 ANSI lumens, and full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Samsung has included a wide array of connections for this projector including dual HDMI ports, two component ports, a composite, RGB, and an s-video connection. The retail price for the A800B is just under $10000.
Last but certainly not least is the A900. Samsung has not released a lot of information about this model, but we do know it features full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 1000 ANSI lumens, and an amazing 12000:1 contrast ratio. It will feature almost the exact same connection panel as the A800B, with the exception of having only one HDMI instead of two. Samsung has not released the retail price for this projector yet.
