Sony Releases VPL-FW41 and VPL-FW41L Projectors

Last month, Sony announced that they were going to release their new VPL-FW41 projector only in Japan. Well recently, the company announced that not only will the VPL-FW41 will be available worldwide, but so will a lensless version called the VLP-FW41L. Both model are identical and feature 4500 ANSI lumens, a 700:1 contrast ratio, and a WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio. These projectors are designed for bigger business applications like small conventions, houses of worship, and bigger meeting and lecture halls. The bigger resolution allows the presenter to easily display presentations from their laptops with out worrying about resizing or distortion. The FW41 comes with a variety of connections including dual RGB ports, a composite, s-video, HDMI, and even a 5BNC connection. There is also an RJ-45 LAN connection for easy networkability. As an added bonus, Sony has also designed four compatible lenses that go with both projectors and can be interchangeable to fit a variety of throw ranges. The VPL-FW41 is estimated to retail for $6710, which unfortunately, is a lot higher than originally thought. The FW41L will retail for only $6440.
