DIY Home Theater That Won’t Wake the Kids

James Bennett and his wife, Kristi, love to crank up the volume while they watch their favorite movies. The only problem was that the sound would wake up their two children. That is why James integrated a home theater into their newest home. While the house was being built, James and his wife made sure that there was a room specifically for a home theater. Because neither of them knew how to build a home theater, they enlisted the help of Dennis Erskine of Design Cinema Privee. Dennis quickly drew up the plans and helped the family decide on what audio and video equipment to use in the theater. The Bennetts spent nine months building their projector making sure that the room was completely sound proof. The rest of the house took an additional 3 months to finish. The projector that the family chose was the Panasonic PT-AX100 projector, which features 2000 ANSI lumens, a 6000:1 contrast ratio, and a HD (1280 x 720) resolution. In order to completely fill the screen they fitted the projector with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio anamorphic lens. The screen is decorated with red velvet curtains and the room can sit seven in comfy recliner chairs. The best part about this theater is that the Bennetts achieved their goal and can now play movies as loud as they want with out worrying about the sound waking the children. Now they only have to worry about getting the children out of the theater.
