The Destination Cosmos Dome at the Futeroscope Theme Park in Poitiers, France is one of the most visited planetariums in Europe. Recently, the 21 meter (69 feet) dome received a brand new upgrade and was fitted with six projectiondesign F32 sx+ projectors. These models are capable of displaying 4100 ANSI lumens, a 7500:1 contrast ratio, and SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) resolution. “projectiondesign has worked with Global Immersion since its inception in 2007 and their work can be found in many of the world’s leading immersive theaters and venues wowing audiences across the world,” says Chris Axford, International Sales & Marketing Director at projectiondesign. “Key to the success of every installation is the ability of our projectors to be calibrated for their specific application and each projector undergoes a stringent testing and matching process before being shipped for installation.” Since the planetarium’s opening it has had over 800000 visitors each year and can hold only 350 guests per show. Its latest production is a French-dubbed version of AMNH’s fulldowm productions ‘Search for Life.’
