Last month, Vivitek displayed several new projectors at CES. Today, the company has announced the release of the D735VX. This model is designed for boardrooms and classrooms and features 3200 ANSI lumens, a 2400:1 contrast ratio, and a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. Weighing only 8 lbs, this projector is more than light enough to travel between presentations. The main feature about this projector however is the detachable keypad on top of the model. The keypad doubles as remote, which helps with portability and security. The projector needs the keypad in order to power up, so a user could take the pad with them and safely leave the rest of the projector in the room. Another major feature about the D735VX is that it is “Filter-free.” This feature reduces the maintenance fees to clean the projector and ultimately reduces the cost of ownership. The D735VX is available through the Vivitek website and currently retails for $1299.
