Epson has recently announced that two new projectors will be available from their home theater collection, the EH-TW4000 and EH-TW5000. Both models are almost identical, featuring full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 1600 ANSI lumens, and a stupendous 75000:1 contrast ratio. They also come with dual HDMI ports, a composite, s-video, RGB, and a component connection. The extremely high contrast ratio is due to Epson’s latest generation D7 C2Fine LCD panels, which have larger apertures that increase the native contrast ratio of the projectors. In addition, both models are fitted with Epson’s Crystal Clear Fine Filters that dramatically reduce light leakage and increases the native contrast ratio as well. The TW4000 and TW5000 are extremely versatile when it comes to placement, featuring vertical and horizontal lens shifts, manual zoom, and they are able to support an anamorphic lens for that full theater experience. Unfortunately, these projectors are being released in Australia right now, with the EH-TW4000 retailing for $4799 and the EH-TW5000 retailing for $5299.
