Sim2 has recently announced at ISE that they are releasing the Grand Cinema C3X LUMIS HOST projector in Europe. This model features 3000 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 35000:1 contrast ratio. The main feature about this projector is the external video processor called the HOST. This device uses three fiber optic cables to transmit video to the LUMIS, which allows users to mount the projector up to 250 meters (820 feet) with out any concern for signal loss or distortion. The fiber optic cable also makes the connection impervious to electrical interference. The HOST comes with six HDMI ports as well as two composite, three component connections, two RGB, 5BNC, a DVI-D, and a HD-SDI port. In addition the projector can be easily controlled by either a LAN line or Ethernet connection. The C3X LUMIS HOST is currently available through Sim2 and retails for about $36500.
