Nvidia 3D Vision for GeForce Brings 3D Gaming to the Big Screen

As 3D technology grows in popularity, many companies are starting to look at ways to bring 3D displays into the home. Graphics technology company Nvidia announced over the weekend the release of the 3D Vision for GeForce. This device is a combination of a pair of battery powered stereoscopic glasses, an IR emitter, and advanced software that automatically transforms hundreds of PC games into a full 3D experience. Unfortunately, this device is only works for PC games right now but it’s a good beginning towards having all games being played in 3D one day. The only downside to this device is that you need a compatible screen in order to use it. Right now the only compatible projector is the Lightspeed Design DepthQ-WXGA, which features HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and 2000 ANSI lumens. In addition the WXGA is 3D compatible and can display up to a 200 inch image from a distance of only 20 feet. Imagine your PC game jumping out of a 200 inch screen. The 3D Vision for GeForce is currently available through Nvidia, and it retails for just under $200.
