Luminus Devices Display PT-120 LED chipset in Chilin CHT 1080P Projector

Last week you may have read about the new LED chipsets that are being released by Luminus Devices. Recently they reported a third set of LEDs that will be used for home theater projectors and projection TVs. The PhlatLight PT-120 projection chipset measures in at only 12 mm (0.5 inch) wide. The feature that makes this chipset stand out is that it can be used to display a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. The set can be used with either DLP or LCoS microdisplays. One of the first companies to display this new chipset is Chi Lin Technology with their CHT 1080P projector. This model is able to display full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a 5500:1 contrast ratio, and 1200 ANSI lumens. “The home theater projector from Chi Lin offers consumers a wonderful viewing experience as the brightness, color gamut and overall reliability is unmatched,” said Matt Mazzuchi, General Manager, Projection Display Business Group, Luminus Devices. “The new LED projector is a culmination of dedicated work by Chi Lin designers, utilizing next-generation technologies such as PhlatLight LEDs in combination with DLP in an environmentally conscious design that made this best-in-class projector a reality.”
