RealD Showcases 3D Technology at CES 09

RealD is the global leader in 3D entertainment. This week at CES has been RealD’s playground as they provide spectacular demonstrations at their opening keynote address, Sony’s Electronics booth, and the first live 3D broadcast of the college football FedEx Bowl Championship Series between the University of Florida and University of Oklahoma. At the keynote address, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffery Katzenberg presented a sneak peak at their highly anticipated film, Monsters vs. Aliens, which is scheduled to release on March 27. RealD equipped the theater with a stereoscopic cinema system and handed out 3D glasses to guests so that everyone could be immersed in a 3D presentation. On the show floor, RealD paired up with Sony in order to display Sony’s new BRAVIA Screens. RealD again provided an amazing 3D show guests who came into the booth. Lastly RealD again worked with Sony to present the world’s first live college football game shown in RealD 3D. The company catered to a capacity crowd as they watched the players jump out of the screen. “With decades of experience in 3D and a single minded focus, we’re proud to demonstrate our solutions for the home market,” said Joshua Greer, president of RealD. “With this technology already piloting mission-critical applications in science and research, bringing it to bear to change the face of the home market quickly and cost-effectively is a natural progression.”
