Epson Displays PowerLite Home Cinema 6500 UB Projector as New Flagship at CES 09

With only two days until CES kicks off many companies are announcing new and exciting gadgets that they will be displaying at the show. Epson is no exception as they announced today that they will be putting their new home theater projector in the spotlight, the Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 6500 UB. This projector is a fine example of better and cheaper technology as it becomes the flagship for Epson’s home theater projectors. The 6500 UB is capable of displaying 1600 ANSI lumens, a full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and an amazing 75000:1 contrast ratio, which is one of the highest ratios available for home theater projectors. Epson has equipped this projector with their newest “Crystal Clear Fine” D7 3LCD chip set that helps contribute to huge contrast ratio. It has also been fitted with a Cinema Filter feature which improves the color accuracy creating sharper and more vibrant displays. The 6500 UB comes with two HDMI connections as well as a RGB, s-video, composite, and a component connection. The best part about this projector is that the retail price is set at only $3000, which is the same price that the PowerLite Home Cinema 1080 was last year and it comes with only 1200 ANSI lumens and a dramatically lesser 12000:1 contrast ratio. The PowerLite Home Cinema 6500 UB is currently available through the Epson website, or you can see the projector in action at CES this week in Las Vegas at booth South 1 20950D.
