Dassault Systèmes and Barco Create 3D Visualization Showroom

Dassault Systèmes is a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions. Recently, they announced that they have finished installing a 3D visualization showroom and a 3D auditorium at their global headquarters. The two rooms were made possible with the use of the Barco Galaxy NH-12 projector. This model features 12000 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Nine projectors were used for the two rooms; seven were for the 3D visualization showroom alone. The showroom uses Barco’s I-Space multi-walled stereoscopic environment, which uses four projectors for the wide front screen and a projector each for the two side screens and a seventh projector is used for the floor screen. The showroom fully immerses the viewers in a 3D virtual environment that you can’t get anywhere else. The 3D auditorium uses two projectors to display onto the 354 inch wide screen. The auditorium is able to seat up to 300 guests. “We are very excited to start using Barco’s immersive environment and 3D auditorium,” states Barbara Tabb, Director of WW Alliance Operations for Dassault Systèmes, “Not only does this system create the right environment for our design software, it also shows that both we and Barco believe in the importance of 3D as a key building block for collaboration, PLM and innovation. If you are immersed in your design, construction or data, you suddenly get a much clearer insight in correlations between vital pieces of information. You will immediately see if the pieces of your design fit together well, or if some materials you want to use have the right look and feel.”
