Open Air Cinema is America’s premiere outdoor cinema production company. Recently, the company announced that they will be taking their inflatable projection screens to Africa to show films in outdoor environments. The CineBox system comes with everything needed for a portable, durable outdoor theater, including a projector, DVD player, sound mixer, carrying cases, blower fans, a power generator, powered speakers, the inflatable screen, and a complete set of cables,. The systems will be given to several Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) as well as to business owners. “With the infrastructure challenges that are common throughout Africa, we are offering NGOs an effective and enticing new medium to deliver critical information and needed entertainment,” said Stuart Farmer, president of Open Air Cinema. “Our inflatable movie screens and systems can be made available anywhere, even in the bush, so NGOs can now deliver consistent messages-through training films about AIDS awareness or women’s rights or an entertaining movie to help elevate the morale of those in the audience.” The CinBox Systems will be able to accommodate both small and large events, with some crowds reaching over 10000 people.
