3M MPro110 Projector Review

The 3M MPro110 was one of the first pocket projectors to be available in the consumer market. This projector features VGA (640 x 480) resolution and LCoS display technology. It also uses a LED lamp that is able to run for 20000 hours before needing maintenance. The MPro110 is able to create a 50 inch image, diagonally from a distance of 5.9 feet. Recently the writers from Register Hardware got the opportunity to test the projector. They couldn’t believe that the MPro110 was as small as a piece of chocolate. They were also impressed by the design of the projector. The vents for the projector were on the top of the chassis, which directed all the heat up and away from the fingers wrapped around the bottom of the projector. Another good feature about this projector was that is could connect to just about anything with its VGA and composite connections. The MPro110 was able to detect the connections easily and with in seconds was displaying them onto the screen. Even though the MPro110 was pretty good, it lacked because some of the projector’s competition has several features that the MPro110 does not. In the end the final verdict of this projector was, “When the shortcomings are taken into account, it seems likely that the MPro110 should be superseded fairly quickly because, beyond composite-video presentations, its ‘Pro’ pretensions fail to shine.”
