Barco is one of the leading manufacturers of large venue projectors. Recently Barco announced the release of the DP-1200 projector. This behemoth is not a projector you could lift on your own, weighing 205 lbs. It features a 2K (2048 x 1080) resolution and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Unfortunately, Barco has not released the amount of lumens the 1200 can produce. Using DLP display technology, from Texas Instrument, the 1200 is able to display an image up to 40 feet wide. This model comes with dual DVI inputs as well as dual SMPTE 292M inputs. The DP-1200 even has with a variety of optional lenses to choose from to help fit the projector to any theater. Barco highlighted that the DP-1200 was designed to reduce operating costs by having the projector only use 2kW to run and use a low wattage, 1.2kW lamp. The DP-1200 is currently available through Barco but the retail price has not been made public.
