Microsoft Releases Survey About “Oahu” Device: Could it be Microsoft Surface in Disguise?

It looks like Microsoft is starting to gear up for a consumer release of the Microsoft Surface. It was reported recently that a marketing research survey was being circulated by Microsoft. The survey asked several questions about a possible product called the “Oahu” computing device with an “innovative multi-touch screen.” Guessing from the questions in the survey, the Oahu sounds exactly like the Microsoft Surface that has been bouncing between conventions. If released to consumers, the Oahu will be big enough for a family of four to sit down and use it simultaneously. In the survey, Microsoft asks several questions that hints towards some of the possible programs the Oahu could include such as a table for meals, a homework helper, content creation, information hub, or gaming device. It is also possible that the Oahu will be able to connect with mobile devices when they are placed on the screen. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not announced any exact details about this hypothetical device. However, one of the last questions on the survey asked if participants would purchase the Oahu if it cost $1499.
