Epson MovieMate 55 Projector Review

The Epson MovieMate 55 projector is a portable home theater. It features a built in DVD player and two 8 watt stereo speakers. The MovieMate is also able to display 1200 ANSI lumens, a 300:1 contrast ratio and a WVGA (854 x 480) resolution. Recently, the writers at Slippery Brick got the opportunity to see, first hand, what the MovieMate 55 is able to do. The first thing they mentioned was how easy it was to setup. According to the author, all he had to do was attach and plug in the power cord and load a DVD into the projector. The author also mentioned that the image quality was exceptional, even with big screens. He mentions how he pointed the MovieMate at a side of the house and the image was as good as when he used it on smaller screens. The writers had nothing but positive things to say about the Epson MovieMate 55 projector. Their final thought was, “I had a lot of fun messing around with the Movie-Mate 55 and though I was expecting too, I didn’t find any flaws. It retails for $699. When you compare that to TV prices, you’re getting a larger screen and portability. They pack in a ton of features for that price. Though I’m a little surprised there’s no Blu-Ray. I’m pretty sold on it after using it and I’m thinking about buying one instead of upgrading my TV.”
