Sony Announces 4K Upgrade

Sony has been making leaps and bounds the past couple of week. They recently have been talking with DCIP to install 4K projectors in movie theaters. Sony has also announced their new 3D adapter which will allow Sony’s 4K projectors to display 3D images. Sony’s latest announcement is that they plan to produce more movies in 4K resolution (4096 x 2160), which can display clear images on screen sizes ranging between 42 and 60 feet. Sony also announced that their entire production process will be integrated with 4K technology, including filmed productions at full 4K resolution, scanning, using a 4K work flow process, and releasing a 4K DCP to theaters. Some of the upcoming films to be released in the new 4K resolution include “2012″, “Salt”, and “The Green Hornet”.
