Screen Research Announces Three New Screen Materials

Screen Research, a world-class provider of innovative projector screen solutions for the custom home theater and professional markets, today added three new SolidPix screen materials to its lineup. The SolidPix 14, GrayPix 09, and GrayPix 11 screen materials provides customization and performance like never before. Customers can also have the option to choose from a full palette of screen solutions to add to the material selected. The solutions help create a screen that is designed specifically for the room it will be installed in. The three new screen materials are currently available in 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios and can be ordered in sizes up to 204 inches, diagonally. All three materials will be available sometime in October.

The SolidPix 14 material is a white fabric surface that features a pearlized surface coating. The coating gives the material a high gain level and optimizes contrast ratio performance. This screen was designed to be used by all projectors. However the material is especially suited for projectors with a low white light output.

The GrayPix 11 was designed mainly for home theaters that have a lot of ambient light. The material is also optimal in environments where high-contrast gray screen surfaces can significantly improve the perceived contrast ratio by enhancing the black tones within the image. In addition to that, the material has a vinyl base that features a specialized coating technology.

Lastly, the GrayPix 09 material can enhance the black tones of a picture, the same as the GrayPix 11 material. It also enhances the black/gray image tonality with out sacrificing image uniformity. This material is best suited for high power projectors with wide viewing angles. The GrayPix 09 also works well with projectors that require a higher contrast ratio performance.
