Carl Zeiss Announces PowerdomeVELVET Planetarium Projector

Carl Zeiss is one of the leading manufacturers for Planetarium projectors. Recently they announced their latest development, the PowerdomeVELVET projector. This projector’s main feature is the stupefying high 2500000:1 contrast ratio that it is used to project night skies like no other before it. The PowerdomeVELVET is able to cover a dome up to 66ft in diameter and also features a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution for high definition images. In addition to all this the PowerdomeVelvet uses DLP display panels that were provided by Texas Instruments. Even though the price for this projector has not been released, we can be sure it will be very expensive. The PowerdomeVELVET is expected to be released early in 2009.
