Scream Zone Opens with New Relaxing Theater

Halloween is quickly approaching and now is the time when haunted houses start to open their doors. The Scream Zone in San Diego California is the largest Halloween attraction in California and this year they plan to add a few new attractions. Last year, the staff of the Scream Zone kept a tally of all the people who were too scared to finish their biggest attraction, the House of Horror. The house has 14 themed rooms filled with terrifying sights and sounds. Each room has their own emergency exit for guests who have seen enough and need to exit the house. 422 “victims” where counted leaving the house before the end. This large number inspired the owners to open up a food and beverage area to help calm down nervous guests. The new area will also feature a big theater screen that will be showing classic horror movies including “Friday the 13th” and “Psycho”. The new theater/food area is also a place for parents to relax while their children brave the many attractions of the Scream Zone. “It started out as an idea to keep crowds busy while they were waiting in line. But there are also a lot of parents who really don’t want to go through,” fairgrounds spokeswoman Talin Hartounian said.
