McIntosh Announces MDLP2 Projector

McIntosh has recently announced that they will be releasing the second projector ever made, the MDLP2. There isn’t a whole lot of information about this projector yet, but we do know it features full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. It also uses Texas Instruments’ DarkChip4 DLP chipset for significantly brighter, higher contrast images. The MDLP2 comes with the latest HDMI 1.3 input connection with Deep Color capability. In addition, the MDLP2 comes with a component, composite, s-video and a RGB connection. This projector was on display over the summer at the CEDIA Expo. Unfortunately, there is no release date, but the expected retail price is around $18000, which is considerably lower than its predecessor, the MDLP1 for $26000, but it is still really high considering the recent drop in projector prices.
