JVC Announces New Upgrades for Four Projectors Releasing in November

JVC has recently announced that they are updating four projectors that are set to release in November. The DLA-HD750, DLA-HD350, DLA-RS10, and DLA-RS20 made their debut earlier this month when they were on display at the CEDIA Expo. All four models got recognition for their ability to display high contrast ratios with out the use of an auto iris. JVC has announced that the upgrade will give all four models an even higher contrast ratio and a higher brightness level.

The DLA-HD750 and DLA-RS20 both THX certified. These home theater projectors used to feature a 30000:1 contrast ratio and 800 ANSI lumens. However, the new upgrades have given these projectors a 50000:1 contrast ratio, which is one of the industries highest, and 900 ANSI lumens. These increases in stats are partially due to a newly developed lens with a 16-step fixed aperture. This lens helps eliminate unrelated light that can reduce contrast levels and allows adjustment of brightness to suit user preferences.

The DLA-HD350 and DLA-RS10 feature a lesser 3-setp fixed aperture to help their contrast ratio. They both used to feature a 15000:1 contrast ratio. But now the HD350 will have a 32000:1 contrast ratio, while the RS10 will feature a 30000:1 contrast ratio. The inner design of these two projectors was changed to help reduce the amount of light leakage. In the original design the light traveled through an L-shape optical section with a mirror to redirect it. This design only allowed for about 800 ANSI lumens to be displayed. The new design changed that L-shape into a straight configuration and now the HD350 and RS10 can display 1000 ANSI lumens.

In addition to these upgrades, all four projectors will continue to display full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and feature a quiet 19 dB noise level. The DLA-HD750 and DLA-RS20 are expected to retail for just under $8000, while the DLA-HD350 and DLA-RS10 will retail for just under $6000.
