BenQ W500 Projector Review

The BenQ W500 projector is a wonderful entry level projector. It features 1100 ANSI lumens, which is wonderful for a dimly lit room. It also has a native HD (1280 x 720) resolution and a 5000:1 contrast ratio. Recently the writers at Register Hardware had the opportunity to review the W500. Their biggest positive point was the quality of the image. They thought that is was sharp with good color depth and contrast. They also noticed that the skin tones looked more lifelike than most of the W500’s leading competitors. The only concern they had with this model was that the 1100 ANSI lumens was not suited for brightly lit rooms. Their final verdict about the W500 was, “If you do a lot of your viewing in the daytime and you can’t darken your room, then you may want to consider a brighter projector. However, if the W500 fits well with your room and viewing conditions you’ll find it offers good image quality from any source and is easy to use.”
