Three Mistakes Dealers Want To Avoid While Presenting Home Theater Projectors

If you are in the home theater market and you are not getting the sales that you want then you need to talk to Bruce Sinning, Berkline’s Vice President of merchandising. Recently he told Furniture World Magazine the three biggest mistakes that dealers make when trying to create a presentation that will help sell home theater projectors and other electronics. Sinning has designed more home theaters than anyone in the industry. He also created a program, the Home Theater Gallery, which is specially designed to help dealers. The first mistake Sinning mentions is that most dealers fail to create what he calls, the home theater “Experience”. To create this “Experience”, sinning suggests creating a separate room with surround sound, projector, and controlled lighting. He says that the room needs to be exciting and always on. This will help the dealer sell the concept. Sinning also mentions that dealers need to create a home theater. Most dealers just have a sound room with the product setup and on display. Sinning suggests adding a sofa or a couple of comfortable chairs to the room. However, you have to be careful not to overfill your home theater display with furniture or it will also take away from the experience. Lastly Sinning mentions that dealers don’t make full use of their electronics. He suggests that dealers bundles the audio, video, and seating to make room feel more dramatic and exiting for the consumer. He goes on to say, “The more comfortable the dealer is with the A/V, the better the experience – and sales potential.”
