Last year, Barco released the LX-5 projector. It is the world’s first 10 megapixel projector. It uses Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) technology, which is much greater pixel density than LCD or DLP, to display a 4096 x 2400 resolution. It also features 4500 ANSI lumens and a 10000:1 contrast ratio. Recently Barco developed a new concept that uses the LX-5 for 3D video displays. The CADWall concept is a multi-channel display system that uses only Barco technology. The CADWall uses two Barco LX-5 projectors ad two channels to create a vivid 10 megapixel 3D stereo image. This display is unparalleled because it uses only two projectors to create 3D images with extraordinary detail and resolution. The CADWall was shown at the Tokyo Industrial Virtual Reality Show. There, it received interest from several leading automotive and design companies. Barco also plans to show the CADWall at their customer center in Kuurne, Belgium during their Innovation Weeks event, September 22nd through October 3rd.
