NATO Teams Up with RealD
3D Movies are starting to grow in popularity. Recently, the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO) has announced that they will join up with RealD to bring 3D systems to over 8000 independent movie cinemas, owned by the Cinema Buying Group (CBG), through out the US and Canada. RealD is one of the leading developers in 3D entertainment. They goal is to make digital 3D experiences part of everyday life. Recently the company helped film and display their first full length feature film, the remake of “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” The problem with 3D theaters used to be that they were in short supply and cost much more than most theaters could afford. Now these 3D systems are becoming more readily available and for a much cheaper price. The Cinema Buying Ground is a NATO-administered program for independent theater operators.
