If you are browsing the projectors at CEDIA then you might want to look what Taiwanese OEM / ODM supplier Chilin Technology is displaying in their private suit on the nearby Hilton Garden Inn, 10th floor, room #1014. With the help of Texas Instruments, Chilin Technology is demoing the world’s first “Lamp-Free” 1080p projector. This projector is able to display full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution as well as provide 600 ANSI lumens and a 100000:1 contrast ratio. The projector is also proven to produce a 128% NTSC color gamut, which is 80% greater than what is possible with conventional UHP projectors. The projector gets its illumination with the help of a PhlatLight LED provided by Luminus Devices. The LED light is guaranteed to last for 50000 hours which means that the projector could break down before the lamp does.  To help protect the lamp Chilin Technology invented a liquid cooling system that uses water to keep the LED light at a constant temperature and prevents overheating.  Unfortunately, Chilin Technology has not yet announced when this projector will be available. Chilin Technology will also be demonstrating their entire line of DLP based HD projectors at the Expo.
