Sony VPL-HD10 and VPL-VW70 Projectors Displayed at CEDIA 08

Sony is making a big statement today with the release of new home theater projector and the announcement of another projector in November. The VPL-HW10 released today and features full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and 1000 ANSI lumens. It also provides a 30000:1 contrast ratio which displays rich deep black levels. The VPL-HW10 also comes with dual HDMI inputs as well as component, s-video, and composite connections to accommodate any video equipment you have. The VPL-VW70 is not being released until November but it is sure to be the projector to look for. It not only comes with full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution but comes with an impressive 60000:1 contrast ratio. The VW70 will also have 800 ANSI lumens, which is more than enough to enjoy a good movie with the lights turned off. The VW70 is also equipped with noise reduction technology to provide a very quiet 22 dB noise level. Both the HD10 and VW70 are fitted with Sony’s SXRD display technology and use the BRAVIA Engine 2 to provide sharp, vibrant, lifelike images. Both projectors are on display at the CEDIA Expo in Denver this weekend. The VPL-HD10 retails for $3499, whereas the VPL-VW70 will retail for just under $8000.
