Epson Displays PowerLite Home Cinema 6100 Projector at CEDIA 08

Epson has one more projector they want to announce today. The PowerLite Home Cinema 6100 is special because it will be the world’s first 1080p projector that will cost less than $2000. Granted the 6100 will not be that much less ($1999), but Epson still provides the same high quality as all their other HD (1920 x 1080) resolution projectors. The 6100 projector features 1800 ANSI lumens and an 18000:1 contrast ratio to deliver brighter and more accurate whites and darker blacks. The projector’s high contrast ratio is possible with its exclusive dynamic iris system. This system allows light to be controlled on a frame-by-frame basis. The Home Cinema 6100 will also have the Epson 200W E-TORL lamp which has been newly updated. The new lamp not only supplies the projector’s 1800 ANSI lumens but also allows the projector to be able to project on bigger screens without loss of image brightness. The PowerLite Home Cinema 6100 will be released sometime early in November, but you can see this model at the Epson booth in the CEDIA Expo.
