NEC NP400, NP500, NP500W, and NP600 Projectors Released

NEC has recently released their newest series, the NP Portable Series. This new line of projectors has four new projectors, the NP400, NP500, NP500W, and NP600. All four of these models feature LCD display technology and each one weighs less than 7 lbs. The NP400, NP500, and NP600 all feature a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. The NP500W has wider WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution for classroom movies or training rooms. They also range in brightness from 2000 ANSI lumens (NP400) up to 3500 ANSI lumens (NP600). These new projectors are designed for easy installation for businesses and classrooms as well as for traveling presenters. All four models have DVI, RGB, composite, and s-video inputs as well as an RGB output. They also come with a variety of features including Kensington security slots, closed captioning, and built-in wall color correction for when you need to present on something other than a screen. They also have a unique feature that turns on the projector when a signal is transmitted through the RGB connection. This feature would be ideal for first time users and meeting rooms. The NP400, NP500, NP500W, and NP600 are all excellent entry-level projectors and are currently available through the NEC website. Their retail price ranges between $899 and $1499.
