Optoma Pico Projector Will Launch November 2008

You may have heard that Optoma plans to release there very own Pico projector. At the IFA convention this past weekend, Optoma announced that they will be releasing their projector in November 2008. The Optoma Pico projector is one of two versions using the same technology provided by Texas Instruments. Optoma’s model will feature DLP display technology and will use LED lamp technology. The LED lamp will allow the device to run for up to 20000 hours before needing lamp maintenance. The Pico projector will be able to run for up to two hours on its internal battery before needing recharging. It will also be able to display a screen up to 60 inches, diagonally. The Pico is expected to retail for 299 Euros ($434). The Pico projector uses an AV input slot to connect to your mobile devices and a USB connection for plugging into your computer to charge.
